Spatial analysis of agricultural development in Behbahan city

One of the important goals in developing programs and policies that will be implemented in each region, to achieve a comprehensive development for reduces the economic gap and creates balance in the region. This study was designed to investigate the spatial pattern of agricultural development in Behbahan County. Its main purpose was review and assesses the relative levels of development in the rural agricultural sector. The population of this study was the villages in districts of Behbahan County. The numerical taxonomy model was used to determine the relative level of development in agricultural areas. The result of research showed that, although in recent years has been a substantial growth in the agricultural in Behbahan County, but has been created a large gap between the agricultural sectors in districts. Dodangeh district was the most developed region and Western Tshan district was the lowest developed region in terms of agriculture. The result of research suggested to achieve sustainable development in rural areas, rural development programs and policies should be enhanced the balanced growth in the region and reduce the regional disparities. Thus, in development planning should be prioritized the areas have less access to resources.
