Rural Development

This course focuses on the sum-total of rural transformation and development in world. The economic reforms, the socio-political superstructure and how these interfaced with development as it unfolded and through interventionism in space and time will be analyzed. A political economy approach will be followed.

To enable learners appreciate the key concepts used in Rural Development.

To help student understand the major challenges to rural development.

To equip student with knowledge regarding the performance of some rural development programs in Iran and other parts of the world.

To equip students with knowledge and skills to design appropriate rural development policies and programs that can ably reduce the misery in rural settings.
